The 1st. Annual Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Unions’ Director Training Conference, sponsored by Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation, was held in Gander on June 15,16 and 17, 2006.
The purpose of the event was to provide Directors with CUDA training in a workshop setting.

There were 35 directors in attendance and from the feedback provided it was a very successful weekend. The directors had ample opportunity to network through the Meet and Greet, the Barbeque and the daily sessions. An event of this nature is invaluable to the development of our directors in this province and it will help them carry out their roles and responsibilities in a more effective manner.
The organizers of this event, CUDGC’s Training Committee, would like to thank, CUMIS for their financial contribution towards the training and League Savings and Mortgage, Concentra Financial, CUIS, League Data and CUETS for the funding of the Meet and Greet Social.
We are planning another Conference next year on May 3,4,5 in Gander and we will be canvassing the directors for suggestions on training topics.
